Proteins are polymers of amino acids linked via peptide bonds. They play a vital role in the function and regulation of the body’s tissues and organs, including muscle protein synthesis. The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of protein for healthy individuals is 0.8g/kg/day.

For optimal training results, it has become evident that protein intake should be increased to at least 1.4–1.6 g/kg/day . In an effort to meet these intakes, supplementation is beneficial.

Whey protein has been used for years to aid muscle recovery and growth. Our whey protein blend is charged with essential amino acids and has an extremely high biological value, allowing your body to optimally utilise it to repair muscles after a workout.

The OLYMPUS Advantage

Bio-active Mineral Complex • Leading Manufacturing Processes • Premium Raw Ingredients • Quality Control

The Olympus Supplements WPI contains a bio-active mineral complex sourced off the Icelandic coast. This unique ingredient provides bio-active calcium and magnesium which benefit bone, joint and digestive health.

Our Olympus WPI is made using the milk from grass-fed cows. The whey is filtered through a cold cross-flow ultrafiltration process to produce 90% protein. The filtration process for the Olympus WPI includes an extra round of filtration which produces a purer product with a higher protein content and less lactose, fat and carbohydrates when compared to our Olympus WPC. The protein is tested for purity and then blended.

WPC
WPI
Filtration Process
The filtration process uses ultra-filters where membranes are 1 micrometer small to produce WPC.
The WPC is filtered again using micro-filters which are 4 times smaller than ultra-filters.
Nutrient Profile
WPC contains 5 to 7% milkfat and high lactose content. This milk fat contains anabolic growth factors, phospholipids and Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA). Lactose contains oligosaccharides which act as growth factors, toxin-binding factors, antimicrobial peptides, prebiotics, and immune regulatory factors.
Due to the stringent filtration process, WPI has a much lower milkfat and lactose content. It is a low-calorie and low-lactose supplement that does not offer the same nutrients as WPC but that is better suited for lactose-intolerant and calorie-conscious users.
Protein Content

Generally, whey protein contains many different types of proteins including beta-lactoglobulin, glycomacropeptide, alpha-lactalbumin, immunoglobulins, proteose-peptone, bovine serum albumin and minor peptides such as lactoferrin, lysozyme, lactoperoxidase and beta-casein.

WPC contains more lactoferrin than WPI but has a lower protein content than WPI of 80%.
Due to the ultrafiltration and microfiltration processes, WPI has 90% protein content, 10% higher than WPC.
